IEC 60598-1:2020 specifies general requirements for luminaires, incorporating electric light sources for operation from supply voltages up to 1 000 V.

This ninth edition cancels and replaces the eighth edition published in 2014 and Amendment 1:2017.

This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition:

- Addition of Clause 4.35, Protection against fast rotating parts;

第0.2条，增加了4.14.1条，增加导轨灯具的相关要求，包括定义、在4.14.1试验对象中增加导轨安装的灯具，并在第4章增加一条要求，即导轨安装灯具还应按照IEC 60570附录A试验
- Revision of Subclause 10.2.2, alternative DC electric strength test;

- Revision of Annex D for recessed luminaires;
修改了附录D，并将温度限值增加到表12.1和表12.3中，对于带F标记的灯具，覆盖层改为直接接触灯具，而非以前覆盖在盒子外面
- Subclause 4.12.5: revision of Table 4.2 for torque test on metal glands;
表4.2中金属格兰试验的最小扭矩从6.25 Nm降低到4 Nm
- Revision clause 4.10.4 and annex U of use of bridging capacitors in luminaires;
